extradite

Extradite is a back-formation from extradition — meaning speakers took the existing noun and worked backward to invent a verb from it.

Rather than the usual path of a verb spawning a noun, this word ran in reverse: extradition came first, and extradite was carved out of it later to describe the act itself.

It's directly tied to extradition, the noun it was built from — the two share the same root but arrived in the language in the opposite order you'd expect.
